MCRIT works at internacional scale since its foundation, for agencies and public institutions from the United Nations or the European Commission (DGTREN, DGREGIO, DGRESEARCH …) to local authorities. During the last twenty years, MCRIT has worked with various companies, including Atkins (UK), Steer Davies and Gleave (UK), TETRAPLAN (Denmark), MKMETRIC MBH (Germany), NEA (NL), TNO (Netherlands), Prognos (Switzerland), SMASH (France), TRT (Italy), NUST (Norway), ENERDATA (France), ISINNOVA (Italy), Nordregio (Sweden), ECOTEC (Belgium), INRETS (France), Nestear (France). In Spain, MCRIT often collaborates with engineering firms and consultants, as IDOM, GPO, INECO, ETT, Diadro, Esteyco, INTRAESA, Transfer engineering-TRN, AIM or ALG, among many others.

MCRIT is oriented to research and innovation. It has coordinated projects in the 4th and 5th Research Framework Programmes of the European Union, and actively participates in the H2020, COST Action, Erasmus +, as well as in the INTERREG European Spatial Planning Network (ESPON). MCRIT has worked with over fifty international universities on research projects, and offers customized training courses on information systems, forecasting and evaluation. MCRIT has collaborated, among others, with the Université Libre Bruxelles (Belgium), Helsinki University of Technology (Finland), University of Tours (France), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), University of Leeds (UK), Bundesamt für Bauwesen und Raumordnung (BBR, Germany), Uniwersytet Gdanski (Poland), Austrian Institute of Economic Research (Austria), Charles University Prague (Czech Republic), Kiel Institute for World Economics (Germany), Edinburgh Napier University (United Kingdom), Oesterreichische Institute Fuer Wirtschaftsforschung (Germany), Univerzita Karlova v Praze, among many others.

In Spain, has cooperated with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), Centre for Studies and Experimentation of Public Works (CEDEX), the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), and the CIMNE of the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC).
