Climate Comfort Zones Residential (CCZR) Planning

Urban planning and bioclimatic design of residential areas of the future multi-exoloxic neighborhood, will be carried out through the following steps: Analysis of the climatic characterization of the pilot intervention area, application of bioclimatic design principles for the planning of Residential Climatic Comfort Zones (CCZR), evaluation of the proposed urban planning and design solutions, evaluation of the level of metabolism self-sufficiency corresponding to the CCZR proposal, elaboration of the resulting informative material for transfer actions, and climate analysis and proposal of solutions in an existing environment from the city of Lugo, Plaza de Campo del Rollo. This will contribute to improving the quality of life in the environment for the inhabitants of the city.

Valencian Urban Agenda

The objective of a process of strategic reflection is basically to expand the area of ​​influence that can have the society of a territory in everything that concerns it, both in relation to politics public, such as municipal technical and administrative management. That is, to enable a process of citizen participation based on common values ​​and interests in the medium and long term, rather than on short-term particular positions; although positions on policies and ongoing projects they are unavoidable, and must be present in the works. Strategic planning is intended to help govern uncertainty by developing, with general perspective of about ten years, a vision and a series of projects and actions over short term built from the coordination of interests and the free will of the actors social and institutional involved. As important as the final content of the document strategic is the quality of the process that has given rise to it, in terms of participation citizen and institutional involvement.

Resilience Plans for Tiana’s Urban Services and Infrastructure

Tiana’s urban resilience project seeks to increase the municipality’s capacity to adapt and recover after events such as fires, floods or other disasters. Adaptation and recovery mechanisms and strategies are built, while the level of vulnerability is assessed and strategies are created to reduce it. The project includes analysis of vulnerability and associated risks, studies on the impact of local and global threats, proposals for urban planning and public-private partnerships to promote resilience. They will establish indicators and identify actions for the development of a safe urban community. Its results will be used as a tool to explain the concept of urban resilience, and as a tool to help local governments identify and implement strategies aimed at promoting urban resilience.

Cardedeu Public Space Master Plan

The project focuses on the design of strategies and actions to improve municipal public space and promote sustainable and safe mobility. In this sense, the municipal territory will be investigated extensively in order to find out the conditions of collusion between the users of the streets, gardens, squares, equipment and public transport infrastructures. People’s needs will be assessed to plan the improvement of the characteristics of their high-density areas, green spaces and the transit network, while identifying opportunities for transformation and recovery. Through the inventory of existing conditions and the development of the designed strategies, public space will be optimized, promoting sustainable and safe mobility and citizen participation in the future planning of the territory.

Development of strategic and sustainable transport and logistics infrastructure plan

We aimed to provide specialized technical services to improve the Government’s Road Concessions Program (PROCROFE) by building a strategic plan for the Program within 18 months. The plan should consider governance and management tools that facilitate the determination of measurable guidelines, objectives and targets, as well as the development of performance targets, allowing greater transparency for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of PROCROFE and the implementation of a risk management system.


Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the City of Zadar

We developed a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for Zadar, a strategic plan designed to satisfy the mobility needs of people and businesses in cities and their surroundings for a better quality of life. SUMP aims to create a better urban transport system by improving safety, security, and sustainability, reducing air and noise pollution and enhancing the attractiveness and quality of the urban environment and urban design for the benefits of citizens, the economy and society as a whole. This plan also involves types of traffic that have less impact on the environment, use sustainable energy sources, which are more energy-efficient and increase citizens quality of life. 

We developed SUMP through research and data gathering processes, by defining goals and measures for their achievement, and by interacting with key stakeholders.

Catalonia Bicycle Strategy 2025

We provided technical assistance to support and follow up on different tasks carried out by the Directorate for Mobility Infrastructures (DGIM), in relation to the development of the Catalan Bicycle Strategy 2025 (ECB 2025).

Land value capture study and site-level TOD plan for the Santa Catarina and Soledade rail stations

We worked in a consultancy that aimed to conduct a study of the land value capture in order to fund our site-level Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) plan for the Santa Catarina and Soledade rail stations in the Northern Administrative Region of Natal.

Interventions of tactical urbanism in the cities of Ríonegro and Montería, Colombia

Mcrit participates in the design of tactical urban planning projects in the cities of Montería and Río Negro (Colombia) and provides technical assistance and support to these two municipalities for the socialization and implementation of these projects.

Need Assessment & Design of the Sewer System in Belo Jardim, Bezerros, Ceruaru, and Escada (Brazil)

Mcrit is working on the need assessment & design of the sewer system of Belo Jardim, Bezerros, Ceruaru, and Escada, using the methodology of implementation of Condominial Exhaustion Systems.

The following services are provided:

  • Design the best alternative of exhaustion of each lot and block and the most efficient way of connection to the sewage collection network, discussed and agreed with the community;
  • Sensitize the participation of the beneficiaries in the processes of adhesion to the system to implement the system of exhaustion in each lot and block;
  • Adherence of 100% of the households located in the areas covered by the Projects to the Condominial Systems of Sanitary Exhaustion;
  • Orient the population to the proper use of the city’s sewage system, collaborating for its sustainability;
  • Update the Client database and the Compesa map database in the area covered by the Projects.
