DESTIN intends to design and apply a decision-support system
for the identification and evaluation of a strategic transport
network in the Western Mediterranean. To achieve this objective,
the project is organised around:

A set of research activities linked directly to the
design and application of the decision-support system. They
include:

A diagnostic of the transport system in the area.

Developing supporting tools, including traffic-forecast
models.
-
Defining scenarios and carrying out traffic projections.
-
Identifying a strategic network and evaluation.
-
Three complementary activities to provide support for
project execution and to promote its outputs and feedback from
the entire Mediterranean region. They are:

The validation, by an external group, of key methods and
results.

A wide dissemination of DESTIN outputs.
-
Management of the project.
Work is broken down into a logical arrangement of 12 work
packages.
