Mapping and visualisation of transport projects financed by the EIB, 

 

 

View interface

IGIS Internet interface allows the user to view projects in several geographical areas and design maps using the geographical references, transport networks, administrative levels and complementary geographic features such as hydrology, mountains, population, etc., that the system contains. This unables the user to customise maps for reports and presentations.

The options of the View interface are listed below:

 



  1. Design a map

  2. Visualisation of a predefined map

  3. Zooming

  4. Get information from selected features

  5. See the metadata of the layers of a map

  6. Print a map

 

Design a map

 
  1. Check the layers to be drawn in the map from the list on the left hand side of the view interface:

  2. Then press Dispaly map under the active map

To consult the legend of a map press Legend on the bottom of the layers list. A new window will appear with the legend of the active map. 

 

Visualisation of apredefined map

 
  1. Clik on More configurations... , in the bottom of the layers list. A new window will appear with a combobox with all the pre-defined configurations listed.

 
  1. Select a configuration and press Dispaly map under the active map

To consult the legend of the active map press Legend on the bottom of the layers list. A new windows will appear with the legend of the active map. 

 

Zooming

The zooming tools in the View interface unable the user to see diferent views of the active map using the zooming tools, chosing a predefined scale or a predefined view of a geographical area or country.

The user can choose a zoom factor in the text box, press the desired zoom tool (up, down, center or all). Then click on the active map.

The user can see the situation of the active view in a map with the european, accession and mediterranean countries situated in the top of the zooming tools, and the scale of the view in the bottom of the zooming tools.

 

Get information from selected features

 

The user can consult the data of the elements of the active map. The user choses a class of elements in the Get information from text box and then selects the element on the map. 

 
 

A new window will appear with the data linked to the selected element. On the top of the new window there will be the name of the class and then all the tables than contain data linked to it.

 

To unselect the element press Clear all.

  

See the metadata of the layers of a map

 

To see the metadata of the elements that contain the chosen layers of the active map press Metadata under the layers list and a new window will appear with the correspondant information.

  

Print a map

 

If the version of the Internet Explorer is 6.0 or newer there is the option to print the active map clicking on it. It appears the tool bar with the optiont of printing, saving, and sending it by email:
