DESTIN (2003-2005) is a research project under the INCO-MED programme of the Community Fifth Framework Programme.

The general objectives of DESTIN are to contribute to research on:

• Interoperability between the Mediterranean countries and between this region and the European countries, in order to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

• Sustainable and operational methods and criteria for identifying and evaluating the development of transport networks in the Mediterranean, which may form a decision-support system for infrastructure planning within the context of the extension of the Trans-European transport network.
