The project aims to help local governments establish strategies and initiatives to help them achieve their stated climate goals. Also aims to empower local governments to make the necessary changes and become aware of the importance of ecological transition and sustainability.

Preparation of the Local Adaptation Plan for Climate Change in Sant Adrià del Besòs, Spain, 2019

Client: Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB)

The objectives of the Adaptation to Climate Change Plan are: a) To increase the adaptive capacity of sectors and / or systems of the municipality, through the proposal of actions that increase their resilience, and decrease the exposure of their infrastructures; b) Articulate a plan that allows integrating and coordinating sectoral local policies and plans to address the risks identified in the diagnosis process. The preparation of the Plan is based on a work process where the involvement of municipal technicians will be central. Work activities are proposed with municipal technicians during the diagnosis, for the identification of the risks and vulnerabilities, in the phase of preparation of proposals, in the consolidation phase of the roadmap for the development of the Plan, in the identification of the responsibilities of the different municipal areas and monitoring mechanisms and indicators.

 

Evaluation of the economic impact of environmental degradation in the state of Ceará, Brazil, 2017

Client: Secretariat of the Environment (SEMA) – Government of the State of Ceará, The World Bank

Partners: Aquino – Consortium Leader, Barcelona Brazil Group

Evaluation of the economic impact of environmental degradation promoted by economic activities and natural effects (such as climate change and natural disasters), inserted in the following State Hydrographic Basins: Fortaleza Metropolitan Basin, Acaraú Basin and Salgado Basin. The Environmental Secretariat – SEMA does not have a technician with specific knowledge to evaluate the economic value of each natural environment that makes up the State and that has been suffering from environmental degradation caused by disorderly economic growth and the natural effects of climate change and natural disasters. The company will prepare material (booklet and compendium) for a Seminar to launch the final results of the cost of environmental degradation in the state of Ceará.
